We should be doing better for our HeyAlfred community.

To all our users / community members,

Two years ago, my co-founders and I started on a mission to empower the millennials of Malaysia with better financial habits. We launched the region’s first financial butler with the help of angel investors who trust and believe in the team and our vision to make personal finance easy and palatable.

The HeyAlfred app has helped over 12,000 unique users keep track of their daily expenses and provide tips on how they can better manage their personal wealth. We took it upon ourselves to create an open finance ecosystem where users can automatically sync their existing financial accounts to the app, making finance tracking a seamless experience.

This momentous feat was not without its challenges. We had countless discussions with banks and other financial institutions (sometimes given the runaround) to persuade them to open their system so that our users will be able to sync their data to our app that provides proactive notifications and warnings to better their financial situation.

During this time, we have had many positive and negative validation both from industry experts and community members about our product and what we were trying to achieve.

My team and I have learned a lot from this experience and it saddens me to have to announce the closure of the HeyAlfred mobile app that we have built in the past 2 years. The app will cease to operate on 1 November 2021.

However, we’re not going anywhere…

HeyAlfred will now be known as HeyAlfie, a smart dashboard for crypto users to manage, invest and borrow digital assets all in one place.

We are not abandoning our community, but rather would like to take you on a slightly different journey. A defi (decentralised finance) journey free from traditional finance. This pivot will allow us to introduce to our existing community about the possibilities and perils of the VUCA world of crypto.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us this far and believe in our vision to make finance simpler. We will be sending a CSV copy of your HeyAlfred data from 1 November 2021 to all our users for their reference to continue good financial habits.

Once again, thank you for your continued support.
